| Before the party can begin, hundreds of decisions
need to be made. Booking a reception hall is one of the first things
you should take care of when you become engaged. Many reception halls
book weddings nine to twelve months in advance or more, so the sooner
you start, the greater your selection will be. Ahh the selection. There are so many different styles of reception sites to choose from! The style and formality of your wedding will dictate whether you choose the facilities at your local church or temple, a grand historical mansion, a beautiful hotel banquet room, or an elegant dining room in one of your favorite restaraunts. | The Food |

| The food selection is an important factor to consider.
Will you be hosting a formal dinner, buffet or perhaps a brunch? When
choosing between a sit-down or buffet style dinner take the number
of guests into consideration. Hosting a buffet line for 300 or more
guests can get long and agitate guests who are waiting in line. Ask the opinion of the reception site manager or catering director to find out what types of dining setups have worked the best for them in the past. If the site you choose does not serve food ( as in the case of a community center or historical mansion), you will need to select a caterer.
