castle.jpg - 13.9 K What to Expect:
Some of you may have already been to France but may not know where the real heart of the country is. We will take you to the department of Lot and Correze on small, peaceful backroads. You will meander along the Dordogne river, cycle through the Quercy Valley to Rocamadour ( a dream-like hamlet spread out along the base of a sheer cliff)... a true treasure of medieval heritage. We will discover other remarkable castles and villages from the middle ages. But more than this, you will have an authentic experience of truly good "joie de vivre" while tasting exquisite wine, local food, foie gras, and perhaps even stop on the side of the road for a cherry fix! Delight in excellent gastronomie without the guilt. Enjoy the ride!!

Lodging and Food
All hotels are very charming and comfortable where service should measure up to your expectations. We think that you will find them to be just wonderful!

The food is excellent with our chef offering you the essence of the countryside in flavors and freshly picked ingredients. This region is renowned over the world for its exquisite foie gras, flavorful truffles, escargot magrets, walnuts and cepes mushrooms.

Level of Difficulty
The routes will average between 30 and 35 miles each day. If you have kept a minimum level of fitness, you should have no problem finishing all of the rides. You do not need to be a cyclist to enjoy these rides. There is always the possibility of adding an extra loop for the more ambitious riders in the group.

bikes.jpg - 17.2 K A Typical Day
Most days will begin with a relaxing breakfast in the company of your fellow riders. This will be followed by a briefing of the day's plans.

During the morning ride, you will have plenty of time for visiting points of interest such as medieval ruins or a scenic overlook.

Most days, lunch will be served as a picnic with local wines, cheeses, breads, meats, salads and fruit. We will usually eat on a scenic overlook or point of interest such as the countryside or small town.

The ride in the afternoon will be similar to the morning's. However, feel free to ask for the support of the minivan if you prefer to take a nap or would like to spend the afternoon at the pool. Prior to dinner, you are free to explore the small town, unwind with a relaxing massage, or enjoy a cocktail "aperitif." Dinner will be either at the hotel or in a nearby restaurant made by a friendly local chef.
